Here’s a collab by me and my boyfriend - a reimagining of Darna, a classic Filipino superhero, as inspired by indigenous Filipino culture.

still a lot of work ahead of me though so many characters and creatures why rick why
(priorities on my to-do list at the moment are clarisse, chiron, luke, poseidon, and charles)
working on character designs at the moment. here’s some of the pjo ladies (these are not at all final. just thought i’d show you my progress xx)

doing character design really gets you thinking about the character and as i was doing sally’s design, i’ve had this realization. so we all see tlt percy as this skinny little kid, right? can you imagine sally, though? knowing her, she would never put herself before percy and i just imagine her saving whatever little they have for him and when he offers her a bite, she’d just smile and say she’s not hungry. i really believe that as thin as percy was when they were staying with gabe, i highly doubt that sally would be any less underfed. if anything, she’d be skinnier, a fact that she would hide under long-sleeved button-downs and long skirts or loose-fitting jeans, which are also useful for hiding her scars, wounds and bruises that she gets from gabe’s abuse.

a few percy costume designs for my thesis. again, feel free to ive comments/suggestions! i’m having so much fun with these it literally feels like a dress-up game. and i feel like canon percy, or at least tlt percy, is more of a basketball shoes kind of guy, rather than converse or vans? idk

hey! :) i’m going to post actual scanned pages soon, but here are a few very early developmental sketches that i’ve tweeted so far. (nancy bobofit, ares, percy, annabeth, grover) these are not the final designs. character design is a very long, gradual process :) you know those disney early character designs that look nothing like the final product? these are probably like that. i’m still trying to get a feel of the characters. i’ve made a lot of sketches after this and have done some changes (made grover look a bit younger, etc), which i’ll be posting in another time. feel free to give constructive criticism though!
